Thousands have been forced from their homes by flooding in northern Afghanistan that was triggered by continuous rains coupled with the melting of the huge accumulation of snow across the Hindu Kush mountain ranges. The Red Crescent response was immediate, helping with search and rescue operations and providing basic health care to the affected population.
