Communities in Sri Lanka were on tsunami alert yesterday after an earthquake struck off the coast of Indonesia. Local Red Cross disaster response teams and volunteers helped evacuate coastal communities. The Red Cross has invested over $1.3 million in community-based early warning systems across the country.
