Photo of the Day: Philippine Red Cross continues to support communities affected by Tropical Storm Washi

Every day, we publish a photo to show the Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know!

A woman happily struggles with hygiene kits she received during a distribution in Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro.  The Philippine Red Cross has been supporting thousands of families since Tropical Storm Washi hit the northern coast of Mindanao island in late December. With support from the IFRC, and with funding from the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO), the Red Cross has reached 15,000 families with food and other relief items, provided hygiene kits and hygiene promotion sessions for 15,000 families, and has distributed mosquito nets to 5,000 families.
