Friendship topic albums from Japan

*Guest entry by Gina Holmes, Public Affairs team, Ottawa

On behalf of the Japanese Red Cross, students from Seika Elementary School recently sent us beautiful homemade albums, called friendship topic albums, filled with colourful hand-drawn pictures, origami and information on traditional culture in Japan. The Japanese Red Cross introduced this exchange program with the intention to strengthen the youth activities between both our Societies and to provide a better understanding of each other.

These albums provide students with a fun and interesting communication tool that can be used to connect with each other through sharing interesting aspects of school life, personal interests, and traditional cultural backgrounds.

With the one year commemoration of the Japan Earthquake approaching, we encourage Canadian youth to create their own friendship topic-albums and share them with us.  It is a great opportunity for youth to learn and share exciting educational information.
