Photo of the Day: The Syrian Arab Red Crescent provides assistance to many affected by conflict

Every day, we publish a photo to show the Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know!

With all of the recent coverage surrounding the conflict in Syria, our photo of the day today captures local people of Homs, Syria helping Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers unload food parcels for distribution to those who have fled their homes. The ICRC is working with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent to rush vital aid to those affected by the violence. The ICRC has managed to get into Homs about 25 times in recent months delivering items such as food, medical supplies and blankets, but there are still many other areas that need to be reached.
