Photo of the Day: Worst hit areas of Philippines receiving aid

Red Cross delivering aid after Typhoon Bopha

In this photo, families from a region of the Philippines badly hit by mudslides and flash floods following typhoon Bopha collect emergency food kits and basic household items. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Philippine Red Cross are working together to distribute essential goods to thousands of displaced people in Eastern Mindanao. The ICRC shared this update with more details on the impact of last week's typhoon and the Red Cross response.

Typhoon Bopha (known as Pablo in the Philippines) has affected over five million people, destroyed 70,000 homes and left more than 133,000 people finding shelter in temporary evacuation centres.
