Photo Tuesday: Art making a difference

Every Tuesday, we publish a photo to show Red Cross at work across the country or around the world. Do you have a photo to share? Let us know!

This week’s Photo Tuesday is from our National Office located in Ottawa. The office recently raffled off a painting to help raise funds for our Horn of Africa appeal.

The painting entitled “Resilience” was created by Daniella Baretto, a long-time volunteer with the Humanitarian Issues Promotion program. The painting represents the lengths that African women in the Horn have gone through to save their children and the strength of these women facing incredible challenges and hardship.

The raffle raised $845. Great job! It’s a beautiful piece of art.
