Our Secretary General and CEO, Conrad Sauvé, is currently in Kenya to meet families affected by the drought and to see first-hand the work being done by the Red Cross. Please do have a look at these photos taken yesterday while Conrad visited a village called Turkana.
The Canadian Red Cross announced this morning that it has already sent $1 million to support the Kenya Red Cross Society and the Somali Red Crescent. The funds are desperately needed as the crisis in the Horn of Africa mounts –over 11 million people are urgently in need of life-saving assistance such as food, shelter and clean water - with the numbers continuing to grow every day.
