Quebec Spring Floods 2017

Thanks to the generosity of the population and precious partners, Red Cross volunteers and teams were able to provide emergency assistance to families affected by the tornado that occurred in Outaouais in the fall of 2018.
 

Response highlights 

  • For details on the Red Cross response since the beginning of the floods in Québec, see our overview.
  • 5,708 families received Red Cross assistance: hotel lodging, food, clothing and financial support.
  • 679 Red Cross volunteers have been mobilized.
  • Over $10 million was rasied through contributions from the public, businesses, foundations and governments.

In addition to the initial $600 in direct financial assistance to flooded households that was offered, the Red Cross provided additional financial assistance to support those hardest hit as they recover.
