Red Cross Pink Day Tshirt 2019With Canadian Red Cross Pink Day 2019 just over three months away, the design for the officials shirts was unveiled on Tuesday, as part of bullying awareness week.

In September, Canadians were offered a choice of three T-shirt designs. Through a nationwide online poll, voters selected their design of choice, featuring this year’s Pink Day theme, Be Someone’s Hero.

Schools can order the shirts for Pink Day online at www.redcross.ca/pink for $8 each. Workplaces and the general public can order shirts online for $20 each. Pink Day 2019 will be on Feb. 27.

“Pink Day is an annual celebration that is very important to the Canadian Red Cross and is part of our continued work on bullying prevention in schools and communities,” said Shawn Feely, vice-president, Manitoba and Nunavut, for the Canadian Red Cross. “We look forward to working with the many schools and workplaces across Manitoba and Nunavut that will be taking part in Pink Day activities in 2019.”

Besides the shirts, the plans for the fifth annual Canadian Red Cross Pink Day Film Festival were also unveiled. The Red Cross is calling on schools from Kindergarten to Grade 12 across Manitoba and Nunavut to take part in the festival by submitting a 30-to-60 second video focused on bullying prevention and the idea of being someone’s hero by standing up to bullying.

The videos will then be displayed on the Red Cross Manitoba YouTube channel so that schools can watch the videos during Pink Day events. Videos from past years can be seen at: https://www.youtube.com/user/RedCrossMB.

The Canadian Red Cross has been a leader in violence, bullying and abuse prevention education in Canada for more than 30 years. In support of that education, the Red Cross is the lead organization for Pink Day in Manitoba and Nunavut, working with hundreds of schools across both the province and the territory.
