Beyond the Hurt Leadership Teacher Training

Leadership Teacher Training: Become certified to train your students to teach their younger peers about communication, conflict resolution, human rights, diversity, and empathy.
Create a Healthy School with improved self-esteem and engagement,
and fewer incidents of prejudice and bullying.
On November 4th, 2017, Red Cross Respect Education invites you to a 7-hour training for teachers being held in Burnaby, BC.
Please join us at no charge (travel costs are extra) for this one-day workshop based on the award-winning Beyond the Hurt bullying prevention course developed by the Canadian Red Cross. Teachers will be certified to train student leaders as Youth Facilitators to teach their peers and younger students about:
  • Preventing and responding to bullying, harassment and discrimination
  • Developing healthy communication skills
  • Interpersonal power dynamics
  • Managing conflict
  • Understanding human rights
  • Promoting respect for diversity and empathy 
As part of the workshop, teachers will be provided with grade-level lesson plans to deliver the content to their students in a flexible, adaptable format.
Date: Saturday, November 4th, 2017, 9am—4pm (PST)
Location: Canadian Red Cross, Burnaby Office, 3400 Lake City Way, Burnaby, BC.
