Respect Education programs for your organization

Build your in-house capacity to prevent and deal with violence

Youth-serving organizations can use Respect Education programs and resources under a Service Agreement or a Training Partner Agreement.

A Service Agreement is used and signed when a customer purchases consultation services, workshops, Youth Facilitator training and/or Prevention Educator training from the Canadian Red Cross. Canadian Red Cross trains and certifies the learners.

A Training Partner Agreement is used and signed when an organization wants to use their own Trainer to train and certify Youth Facilitators and/or Prevention Educators in their own organization or in other organizations. Red Cross trains and certifies personnel as Youth-Serving Organization Trainers. The Youth-Serving Organization Trainer will then train and certify Youth Facilitators and/or Prevention Educators within their organization or according to their contract.

Youth serving organizations can:
  1. Have personnel become certified Prevention Educators:
    • Personnel are certified through 21 hour training that prepares them to facilitate the Healthy Youth Relationships program to youth.

  2. Train youth as Youth Facilitators to co-facilitate program lesson activities to younger youth, alongside a Prevention Educator. Contact your local Red Cross to book a Youth Facilitator Training!
    • The organization signs a Service Agreement
    • Red Cross Trainers conduct a 14-hour training with youth to certify them as Youth Facilitators.

  3. Become a Training Partner and develop a staff person as a Trainer to train and certify Youth Facilitators and/or Prevention Educators. Contact your local Red Cross to learn more about becoming a Training Partner!
    • The organization signs a Training Partner Agreement
    • As Training Partners, your organization's personnel will be provided with a curriculum, teaching resources, and supporting materials. Upon completion of the training, personnel will become certified as trainers to deliver the Healthy Youth Relationships Youth Facilitator training and/or the Prevention Educator Training.
