Join us in Fredericton as we explore the role that International Humanitarian Law (IHL) plays in dealing with contemporary challenges to the protection of civilians in the situation of armed conflict. This year’s conference will seek to raise awareness about vulnerable populations in times and areas of armed conflict, focusing on the impact of conflict on protection of members of the LGBTQ+ community and those discriminated against due to their gender or sexual identities.
The conference, organized by the Canadian Red Cross and the International Law Society at the University of New Brunswick, will bring together experts from the field, including academics and representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement.
