The Canadian Red Cross and the University of Saskatchewan, Department of Political Studies and the College of Law present the ONLINE 2022 International Humanitarian Law (IHL) academic conference: Armed Conflict & Protection of Future Generations. The Conference will begin with an introduction to IHL, linking the topic to the law of armed conflict and be followed by a panel. This event will bring together experts in the field, including academics and practitioners to discuss the challenges that this topic raises, including the impact of war on children, the environmental impact of conflict, and new weapons technologies and what lies ahead.

Join experts as they discuss contemporary challenges related to armed conflict as well as the role of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) in protecting future generations.

The 90-minute online panel discussion will begin at 12:00 CST. Attendees are also invited to an optional session prior to the main event to learn more about IHL, the rules that limit and prevent human suffering in times of armed conflict.
