Travis Price never imagined his life could be transformed by a simple act of kindness. But one moment did change him forever into a champion of bullying prevention.
 
Price recalled the day that altered his life while visiting Calgary recently for Bullying Awareness Week. Now a Canadian Red Cross ambassador, Price told local students that he was in Grade 12 in Nova Scotia when he and a friend, David Shepherd, intervened because a younger boy was being bullied in school for wearing a pink shirt.

This catchy jingle is not the best reflection of the majority of children and teens who are returning to class. For some, it’s the end of summer vacation that stings the most, but for others it is the fear of returning to a place where they are bullied.

Connecting to a cause: Robert Whitelaw and the Strength and Spirit Campaign

The goal of the Strength and Spirit campaign may have been to build strength and resilience in First Nations communities, but what it also uncovered was one man’s passion and commitment to the region he grew up in. Robert Whitelaw, better known as Bob, was a family man who put great emphasis on building strong relationships. This ultimately became his legacy and it was all prompted by the Canadian Red Cross Strength and Spirit Campaign.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders share important messages about bullying

Three Saskatchewan Roughrider players have had a very busy off-season. Since attending Red Cross bullying prevention training camp in December, Neal Hughes, Scott McHenry and Dan Clark have been travelling throughout Saskatchewan talking to kids about how they can stop bullying in its tracks.
