With their support and contributions, the Canadian Red Cross is able to help families during disasters, offer first aid and water safety training, provide loans of health care equipment, empower youth to prevent bullying and so much more.

Volunteering with the Red Cross

Volunteers are the life blood of the Canadian Red Cross. Volunteers help respond to both local and larger-scale emergencies and disasters including house fires and the effects of severe weather like floods or evacuations.

Update: Red Cross warming centres open to provide relief from ice storm

The Red Cross continue to help those affected by the ice storm by supporting 10 of the City’s warming centers across Toronto. Approximately 800 people stayed in those centres last night. In addition, Red Cross volunteers are also supporting 14 sites in southern Ontario, outside of the city.
