We are extending a warm Red Cross welcome to Christine Pantazis! Christine (@wedding_crasher) is the newest Social Ambassador to join our team. She is a trained digital volunteer with the Red Cross and has been helping in social media in times of disaster. Christine has spent a lot of time learning how to use social media in emergencies with the Red Cross and most recently volunteered to help the Canadian Red Cross respond to the floods in Alberta on social media. During Emergency Preparedness Week, Christine shared preparedness tips on her blog and she recently visited our field hospital for training exercises.
There were so many amazing thing to see and learn while at the CRCeru exercise but, my favourite part really has to be learning about the hospital. From how and when it's deployed to how it's built and the people involved. So many moving parts! Not just medical staff but technicians, logistics and communicators. It's truly amazing. I'm excited to join a group of people who are interested in the greater good. Helping at home and internationally. Also, I'm honoured to be part of such an incredible and accomplished group of people.
