Most teenage boys are busy playing video games, trading baseball cards or are out playing street hockey with their friends; but after speaking with Victor and Ward, it is easy to see that they are not your typical 14-year-olds.
These two boys ventured from their home in Holland to come to Canada for two weeks to volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross. Given the opportunity to build their experience and their English language skills in a work-abroad program, they chose the Calgary office.
In the short week they were here, the two boys stayed busy; helping the Calgary team develop and organize a variety of volunteer appreciation gifts and working in other Red Cross programs.
We want to thank them for all the hard work they have put forth and wish them a safe journey home.
