Given that we assisted 14,274 people in Canada last year alone, we count on the selfless efforts of our volunteers and the donations of our supporters to accomplish our mission. Whether it is house fires, flooding, or helping families and communities prepare for disasters, the Red Cross is there to respond and provide assistance.
Yesterday, Federated Coop Limited (FCL) announced a 1 million dollar donation to be paid out over five years to the Canadian Red Cross. In addition, they have pledged to have staff from eight different locations in Western Canada to be trained as response volunteers. That's something to celebrate!
