Video: Improving community health in Nicaragua

As a part of International Development Week, we wanted to share this video with you to give you one example of how the Red Cross is involved in international development around the world. The following video explains how the Canadian Red Cross has been present in Nicaragua since 1998, when Hurricane Mitch struck the region. Together, with the Nicaraguan Red Cross, the Ministry of Health, and local communities, the Canadian Red Cross has focused on improving the health of vulnerable communities in some of the poorest parts of the country. The ENLACE Maternal and Child Health project was launched to extend child and maternal health services, health and hygiene promotion, and health education. Watch the video to learn more about the ENLACE Community Health Project.
