Health program gets the gold

A team of Nova Scotia Red Crossers were all smiles last week as they picked up the Gold Award in the not-for-profit category at the 4th annual IPAC/Deloitte Public Sector Leadership Award ceremony held in Toronto.

The award is a culmination of all the hard work and creative solutions from people such Paul McKinnon and Cathy Oakley (both previously featured on our blog), and many others. They’ve been leading the way in providing quality health equipment such as wheelchairs and hospital beds to those who need it in Nova Scotia.

The Red Cross HELP program offered in collaboration with the provincial government is helping to reduce the cost of healthcare in the province.

Check out this fun video that illustrates how the program came about and its impact.
