Thanks to the dedication of Red Cross staff and volunteers, the Red Cross is able to respond to emergencies that happen across the country every day. In Ontario alone, there have been more than 500 emergencies – everything from floods to mass evacuations caused by fires.

Over the last month, our staff and volunteers have done an outstanding job responding to the emergency in Attawapiskat. From conducting initial assessments, procuring supplies, arranging for plane charters and distributing supplies, our teams worked non-stop from Timmins and Attawapiskat to ensure the most vulnerable families have the supplies they need to stay warm this winter.

Have a look at these photos to see some of the Red Crossers who have helped in this response. We don't have photos of everyone who has been part of the response. But if you are a volunteer who has been to Attawapiskat with the Red Cross and you have a photo of yourself, please send it to karen.snider@redcross.ca
