TV’s Jillian Harris lends support to Red Cross in Slave Lake

Last month Jillian Harris, former contestant on The Bachelor and designer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, visited Slave Lake following the devastating wildfire that ravaged more than 350 homes and businesses and forced the evacuation of 15,000 people from Slave Lake and surrounding communities. Harris, originally from Peace River, Alberta now living in Vancouver, felt compelled to help. Accompanied by Canadian Red Cross personnel, she toured the affected areas of the town. Accustomed to being on the construction side of homes, the sheer scale of the destruction of 350 homes left her visibly shaken. But that didn’t stop the compassionate television star from lending a hand to Red Cross relief and recovery efforts. In this video, Harris makes a plea to the public for support as Red Cross helps families rebuild their lives and homes, one brick at a time.
