Coordinator-Data Management & Reporting

The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization is seeking a Reporting and Data Management Coordinator to join our Information Management Team and support our response to COVID 19.  This is a unique opportunity to join a world recognized brand and to put your passion for data collection, collation, and dissemination of information to work.  This is a six-month casual opportunity.

In this role you will:

  • Work with the Head of Operations or designate to establish appropriate reporting cycle

  • Ensure that response-related reporting is produced in a timely and relevant manner, and that both internal Red Cross data and external situational information are accurate and appropriate

  • Ensure the usage of standard reporting templates to standardize the flow of information to internal and external stakeholders

  • Collect data and drafts reports for presentation to national stakeholders and executive internal audiences as appropriate

  • Manage data where ad hoc data collection is required and approve designs and maintain appropriate data collection tools; where Systems exist, liaise with Systems leads to ensure accurate reporting and to support operational data usage

  • Support functional leads in ensuring their data collection mechanisms and reporting is timely and that data is appropriate, complete, and accurate

  • Liaise with operational staff to coordinate and manage the data for other information management tools (i.e. GIS applications, PowerBI dashboards)

  • Advise on data management best practices as needed

 

We’re looking for:

  • Completion of a post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required

  • Exceptional organizational, time management, technical and numeracy skills

  • Superior Analytical skills and the ability to interpret and synthesize complex information and communicate it to a variety of audiences

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products (SharePoint Online and Excel in particular) required with intermediate proficiency and accuracy in Excel, including ability to work with pivot tables and intermediate proficiency and accuracy in Word

  • Knowledge of data visualization and graphic design principles an asset

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required.  strong written and verbal communication skills in French considered a strong asset

  • Strong understanding of primary and secondary data collection and management required
  • Proven data processing and basic data analysis skills required
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of sustained concentration

  • Natural curiosity and drive to investigate and resolve issues

  • Ability to effectively develop strong cross-functional working relationships, evidenced by a track record of teamwork and collegiality, building relationships

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and changing environment with multiple conflicting demands
