The Canadian Red Cross is supporting Long-Term Care (LTC) facilities facing extreme circumstances during the current COVID-19 pandemic. We have implemented a collaborative approach to provide immediate and scalable support to LTC facilities and their residents.

As an Administrative Aide, you will be an important member of the CRC Crisis Response team and report to the Site Manager. You will support the most urgent needs that include, but are not limited to; unit recreation activities, reception or administration.

In this role you will :

  • Welcome, show around, help with signing in/out, answer phone inquiries and provide guidance for residents, visitors and service providers;
  • Assist with data entry as well as basic procurement, shipping, receiving and ordering supplies;
  • Facilitate connection (calls or video) between residents and their family/friends
  • Help the Crisis Response team with meal/snack/hydration delivery, support with nutrition including opening lids, tray set up, etc.
  • Support to recruitment efforts as needed

We’re looking for :

  • Passion and ability to work with seniors
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle and facilitate interactions with the general public, clients and colleagues
  • Sensitive and empathetic to the needs of the residents and able to communicate and engage confidently
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Fast learner and able to work under minimal supervision to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong computer skills and Windows literacy

The majority of work will be performed in a fast-paced, changing environment with strict infection control practices, including the requirement to wear PPE.
