Denis Desilets

Denis is a francophone from Quebec. He started volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross in 2008, with his main area of interest being in the governance of the Society. This interest led him to get involved at several levels of the organization, such as president of a branch, and serving on the regional and zone councils.

With the Red Cross being reliant on volunteers to deliver the mission, Denis feels that recognition of the contribution of volunteers is important. As such, he is a member of the Volunteer Resources Committee in Quebec, as well as the National Recognition Committee. At times, he also assists with communications in Quebec as a spokesperson.

During his 36-year career with Hydro Quebec, Denis held different levels of management and advisor positions including the performance evaluation of members of the Mauricie regional management. He also led the teams for communications and community relations.

Denis has served as a voting member of the Red Cross since 2017.  With his knowledge of Canadian Red Cross activities and his professional background, Denis is well-placed to understand the importance of the role of National Member and is very motivated to continue his contribution to the organization.
