Pascal Mathieu – VP Quebec

Pascal MathieuPascal Mathieu is Vice President of the Red Cross in Quebec. He joined the organization in 2003 as a member of the Quebec fundraising team. Thanks to his wealth of experience in philanthropy and management, he helped create the largest annual Red Cross fundraising event in 2005 and served as Director of Philanthropy before taking the lead of our operations in Quebec. He has coordinated a number of Red Cross large-scale responses in the province: the Lac Mégantic disaster operations (2013), the Syrian refugee arrival (2016), the Ottawa-Gatineau tornadoes (fall 2018), the spring floods of 2017 and 2019, and more recently, operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After studying marketing management at HEC Montréal, Pascal got his start in philanthropy in 1998 with Cystic Fibrosis Quebec, which assists youths suffering from that illness. His duties involved participating in a variety of fundraising campaigns, including direct marketing campaigns, and organizing public and corporate events.

He is committed to environmental protection and served as a board member of the Fondation québécoise en environnement (Quebec Environment Foundation), which focuses part of its efforts on fighting climate change, from 2017 to 2020. This is a concern shared by the Red Cross, which is increasingly called upon to respond to disasters caused by climate change. More recently, Pascal joined the Board of Governors of the Fondation Québec Philanthrope (Quebec Philanthropic Foundation), whose mission is to promote philanthropy for the good of the community.
