A fire in downtown Saint-Donat

Topics: Quebec, Emergencies and Disasters in Canada

Following the violent fire that destroyed several businesses and residences in downtown Saint-Donat in the Lanaudière region, Red Cross volunteers were quickly mobilized to help those who were affected. The municipality’s mayor, Richard Bénard, wanted to reassure those who have lost everything that the town will work in collaboration with the Red Cross to find accommodation for them as fast as possible.

Red Cross relief operations during disasters—like the one currently affecting families in Saint-Donat—are made possible thanks to donations. The population’s generosity enables the Red Cross to deploy teams of responders to the site of the disaster in order to offer the emergency support that is needed.

You can support our disaster services to help families affected by disasters throughout Quebec by making a donation on our website or by calling (1-800-418-1111).
