Raisers Edge Database Specialist

Full-Time
Location: Mississauga

The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is currently seeking a Specialist in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software.

Under the general leadership of the Finance Director, Ontario zone, and working with Fund Development, Disaster Management, other departments and other Finance staff the Raiser’s Edge Database Specialist provides support in the development, coordination and administration of the Raiser’s Edge database. Reporting to Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of technical and administrative functions related to the daily operation of the organization’s databases, which track contributions, constituents, members, donors and prospect information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute data entry for gift records so that the processing, tracking, reporting and acknowledgement of gits are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist in implementing financial systems and financial reports. Ensure that data entry follows current accounting standards and meets with organization policies.
  • Process donor deposits and deliver accurate donor receipts on a timely basis.
  • Develop and produce timely standardized statistical reports and other reports as required.
  • Run appeal performance reports, fund performance reports, and disaster appeal reports and is responsible for maintaining those database records.
  • Assist with any software upgrades or changes and ensures minimal disruption to Raiser’s Edge users and workflow processes.
  • Maintains database integrity, including data clean-up, imports, file conversions, elimination of duplicate records and archiving.
  • Draft gift acknowledgement letters using Raiser’s Edge.
  • Process queries and compile reports using Raiser’s Edge.
  • Assist with end of month financial reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience using Raiser’s Edge.
  • Great attention to detail and ability follow through.
  • Bachelors Degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience with creating mass mailings and financial appeals.
  • Experience with end of month financial reporting.
  • Strong written and oral communication in English (Fluency in French language is an asset)
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.
