Program: Community Housing Support Program Location: Calgary
Community Housing Support provides rental, utility and basic needs assistance to low-income families and individuals in crisis. Our strategy is to provide referrals, support, advocacy, and/or financial assistance in order to prevent or intervene in situations of absolute homelessness (where people are staying in a homeless shelter, women’s emergency shelter, or living on the streets) or precariously housed (relative homelessness—those who are temporarily staying with friends or acquaintances, living in their vehicle or other temporary accommodations).
This position requires a person who is familiar with the services of agencies that provide assistance to clients experiencing a housing crisis. Clients are often times in distress and are seeking a way out of their predicament.

Compassionate and inquiring mind with experience in social services
Able to adjust quickly and professionally to unexpected situations
Good computer skills
Good communication skills and excellent with details
REQUIRED COMMITMENT:
3 months minimum commitment
Minimum once a week, 3 – 4 hours/day for Monday and/or Fridays
