Walmart Canada launches campaign to support the Canadian Red Cross
What would you do if disaster struck your community? As thousands of Canadians have already found out this year, the Canadian Red Cross is there to help. From floods in Western Canada, to fires in Northern Ontario, the Canadian Red Cross has provided invaluable support to those affected by disaster.
From August 2-26, 2012, Walmart Canada will run its annual campaign in support of the Canadian Red Cross. At Walmart checkouts across the country, associates will be asking customers if they would like to make a donation to support disaster relief efforts in communities across the country. This year’s ambitious goal is to raise $3.2 million, which we know can be accomplished with the support of generous donors like you.
Walmart is the largest corporate supporter of the Canadian Red Cross, and is the largest partnership of any Red Cross society worldwide. Walmart Canada has raised and donated more than $19 million since 2003, and provides over a $100,000 worth of gift cards and blankets to Canadian families affected by disasters every year.
