Ten Steps to Creating Safe Environments

Purpose:

To learn how to create safe environments, free from violence and abuse.

Format (Length):

  • OnLine Self-Directed (3 hours):

  • Recognize People’s Vulnerability and Resilience

  • Complete a Risk Assessment
  • Develop Policies and Procedures
  • Educate Adults, Youth and Children
  • Respond to Disclosures
  • Meet the Challenges
  • Maintain Safe Environments

  • Ten Steps Manual or Ten Steps Manual (Outside Canada)

  • None

Additional Notes:

  • Due to the nature of the program, candidates under the age of 18 need adult support to take this program. If this course is being led by a RespectED Prevention Educator, then younger individuals can take this course
  • Must attend and participate in 100% of the course
