2012 Humanitarian Award Winner: Dr. Chris Ekong Dr. Ekong was selected as the Humanitarian Award recipient for his commitment to providing support and service to others. Mr. Ekong has played a major role in a number of community organizations in the medical field, and has also contributed to social and cultural organizations, as well as international projects. One example of a programme Dr. Ekong founded was the Purple Project, a program that donates computers to where needed around the world. From Regina to Rwanda. Dr. Ekong’s passion for humanity extends worldwide.
2012 Young Humanitarian Award Winner: Regan Hinchcliffe Regan is an inspiration to the young people in our city. He was selected as the Young Humanitarian for his dedication to contributing to the community and inspiring others to do the same. Regan has a genuine passion for making a difference. In just a few years he has raised over $12,000 for charities based here in Regina. From organising concerts for the Japanese Tsunami to a innovative social media campaign for the Regina Foodbank, Regan is a true humanitarian. As a young entrepreneur his company Smedia continues his community spirit and includes charities in so much of what they do.
