Health in Conflict Settings

When formal health systems collapse in conflict situations, the Canadian Red Cross and the International Committee of the Red Cross collaborate to bring essential health services and build basic community abilities to respond to health needs in conflict-affected communities. The Red Cross emblem provides and protects a humanitarian space to deliver such programs.

In conflict zones in Colombia, Sudan and Northern Sri Lanka, the Canadian Red Cross has for several years worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross to provide basic health services and preventative health care to vulnerable communities.
