Health Equipment Loan Program & Service Delivery - Victoria, BC

 

This is a clerical customer service position providing support to all programs and clients by walk-in or telephone to the BC Coastal regional office. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

·         Provide the required customer service to walk-in clients including direct service to Health Equipment Loan clients – by processing client requests using a specialized Red Cross equipment database and providing them with health care equipment

·         Manage all incoming telephone calls through the Red Cross switchboard, by screening calls and directing them appropriately

·         Ensure building security by monitoring incoming and outgoing traffic

·         Accept and process donations by mail, telephone and in person

·         Perform a variety of clerical tasks such as typing, data entry and photocopying

·         Assist in opening and/or distributing mail and courier packages to appropriate staff and departments

·         Complete other applicable duties as assigned

·         Understand and uphold the Red Cross Fundamental Principles and Mission Statement

·         Work as part of a Red Cross team of staff and volunteers to deliver Red Cross programs and services

 

Qualifications: 

 

·         Enjoys working with people and has the desire to help others

·         Is outgoing, friendly and patient

·         Excellent telephone skills

·         Thrives in an environment where multi-tasking and organizational skills are required

·         Has some knowledge of basic administrative tasks

·         Has experience working with computers, data entry experience would be beneficial, but not mandatory

·         Experience working with or knowledge of health equipment would be an asset

·         Must be physically able to handle and move objects weighing up to 20lbs (bending, lifting, and carrying)

 

Time Commitment:

  • One four hour shift per week Monday thru Friday from 9:30 am – 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm
  • Minimum 6 month commitment 

Training and Development Opportunities Available:   

  • Orientation to Red Cross (Introduction to the Movement)
  • Orientation and training to the Health Equipment Loan Program
