They may be a senior on a fixed income who is recovering from a broken hip, or the spouse of a loved one who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Medical equipment/aids allow loved ones to be at home.
Whatever the reasons, last year alone, Red Cross volunteers lent out over 24 thousand pieces of medical equipment to residents of Southern British Columbia.
As our seniors population continues to grow the need for our medical equipment loans program also continues to increase.
Because there is no fee for rental, we rely on donations and the support of over 400 volunteers who clean and maintain the equipment and provide customer service.
