Humanitarian Issues Program

Promoting Humanitarian Issues
Toronto high school event depicting the rebuilding of a structure in a landmine ravaged country. It is part of an activity called: Building Blitz: Reconstructing Infrastructure.

Through humanitarian leadership development and public engagement initiatives around selected global humanitarian issues and crises, the Canadian Red Cross seeks to empower an active, informed and compassionate civil society to take action toward alleviating human suffering.

Our work includes promotion of International Humanitarian Law and the Even Wars Have Limits campaign themes (children and war, women and war, weapons contamination), some International and Red Cross Red Crescent Movement-related humanitarian issues, humanitarian leadership development, and the promotion of humanitarian values and principles.
