HELP: Short Term Loan Service

 


This community-based, volunteer-run program provides short-term loans of basic health equipment, by donation, to those recovering from surgery or injury, or living with mobility limitations. Last year, over 350 volunteers served 25,000 clients, providing over 54,000 pieces of equipment.

Available equipment includes mobility aids, bath aids, toileting aids, walking aids, and aids to daily living. View our Basic Equipment List

Referrals from a health care professional are required for all items.

Please phone ahead to one of our Service Sites across the Lower Mainland to confirm availability of equipment and hours of operation.

The Red Cross is pleased to offer HELP Plus to residents in the Fraser Health area. The program provides short term loans of specialized equipment such as mechanical lifts, hospital beds, and floor to ceiling poles. Fraser Health occupational therapists and physiotherapists can download the HELP Plus referral form here and access the HELP Plus program manual on the Fraser Health Home Health Intranet site.
