Bullying Prevention to Nanaimo! The Canadian Red Cross Violence & Abuse Prevention Program, RespectED, delivered anti-bullying and harassment workshops to Nanaimo students, thanks to a generous contribution from Coast Capital Savings. Workshops were held Woodlands Secondary and Nanaimo District Secondary; they were based on the Beyond the Hurt Program, which was developed to prevent bullying and harassment among children and youth, using a youth-facilitation model. We would like to thank Coast Capital Savings for their contributions and efforts to get RespectED into more schools and help make bullying a thing of the past. more

Thrifty Foods

Violence and Abuse Prevention Program. We are very pleased to have Thrifty Foods on board as a sponsor for one of our upcoming bullying prevention workshops on Vancouver Island. The Canadian Red Cross is working to stop bullying through a classroom program that teaches bystanders how to respond and react to bullying situations. Youth are trained to educate their peers and younger children on preventing bullying, taking a stand to help others, and knowing how to access adult support. Thanks to the generous support we receive from Thrifty Foods, we will be able to reach more children and make bullying a thing of the past.  more
