2016 Red Cross Youth Symposium

The 2016 Red Cross Youth Symposium is a two-day leadership event for students in grades 7-9; they will be trained as youth facilitators for the Healthy Youth Relationships program. Youth will gain knowledge and skills in the following areas:
 
  • Healthy relationships
  • Personal boundaries
  • Gender identity and sexual orientation
  • Media and stereotypical influences
  • Dating violence – physical, emotional, sexual
  • Helping themselves and their friends
This unique program supports curriculum outcomes in health, social sciences, and the humanities, developing self-awareness and skills in decision making, communication, conflict management, empathy, critical thinking, and social action to promote healthy relationships.
 
2016 Symposium Dates:
Saskatoon: October 12th & 13th, 8:30am-3:30pm at the Ramada Hotel
Regina: November 17th & 18th, 8:30am-3:30pm at the Ramada Hotel
There is a $50 registration fee for the event; cost does not include accommodation.
