Volunteer Profile: Brenda Preston

This week’s feature Canadian Red Cross volunteer in Manitoba is Brenda Preston. Including her time as both a first aid instructor, a personal disaster assistance team supervisor for the Western Manitoba region, an emergency response team responder and facilitator, Brenda has been volunteering with the Canadian Red Cross for 15 years.

Pauingassi First Nation evacuees returning home Wednesday; Red Cross evacuees from Marcel Colomb moving to Thompson

The more than 450 evacuees from Pauingassi First Nation who have been out of their community for more than a month due to wildfires will be returning home starting Wednesday.

The Canadian Red Cross is starting the process of returning evacuees from Little Grand Rapids back to their community as of Saturday, June 23. The residents of this northern fly-in community have been away from their home since May 20.
