Just One Person: Healthcare in Disaster and Conflict Zones

Most people run away from global crises, but not Canadian Red Cross volunteer Patrice Gordon. The B.C. nurse practitioner will take you on an adrenaline-filled journey, sharing her experiences around the world as a Red Cross aid worker. You’ll hear stories from her recent mission in Bangladesh, where she assisted people fleeing violence in Myanmar. She’ll talk about treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, and saving lives after the devastating Nepal earthquake. Her presentation will highlight successes and challenges, what it takes to become an aid worker, and the personal impacts of responding to disasters and emergencies.  If you can’t make it in-person, please join our webinar.
