Major Donations in Ontario

Nine children, ages approximately 7 - 11, wear life vests and bathing suits, smiling for a photo outdoors while sitting on a dock, on a lake.

For two years the Red Cross has successfully delivered swimming lessons in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation and City of Timmins to help build a water-safe community.

The Red Cross in Ontario is at the forefront of initiatives that create effective solutions for vulnerable Ontarians and we stand ready to respond at a moments notice to the urgent needs across the country and the world.

In addition to our vital and well-known national Red Cross programs, here in Ontario we have initiatives underway focused on responding to emerging community needs and our goals.

Seniors

A Canadian Red Cross volunteer hand delivers packaged food to a senior citizen right at their door.According to Stats Canada, by 2041 almost a quarter of the Canadian population will be over the age of 65.

The Red Cross has long provided home care services to seniors allowing them to age at home with comfort and dignity. With the increasing population, the Red Cross is taking a holistic approach and looking at all areas where the Red Cross can provide care or expertise.

We are in the early planning stages of a project to create a community model that will expand and improve support for seniors, families and caregivers at home and in the community. If you would like to be a part of the leading change and creating solutions to help seniors be as independent as possible for as long a possible, please contact us.
