Alberta Floods

The Canadian Red Cross continues to assist Albertans as they rebuild their lives following unprecedented floods. In June 2013, multiple communities in southern Alberta were impacted and thousands of people were forced from their homes. Disaster recovery can be a long process, as needs and vulnerabilities continue to emerge months later. Canadian Red Cross teams are still responding to ensure people’s basic needs are met, and encourage those who are still struggling to seek assistance. More than 6,000 families have received help to date. Support is also being offered, in partnership with government and non-governmental organizations, to communities impacted by the floods, so they can build back with strength and resilience. Aid from the Canadian Red Cross is structured to not duplicate other programs.
