RWANDA: Since March, approximately 200,000 people have fled pre-election violence in Burundi, 
heading to neighbouring countries of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. With the support of the IFRC and other donor agencies, Rwandan Red Cross staff and volunteers have been providing aid to the refugees since they began crossing the border, registering new arrivals at different entry points, at the transit camps, and the permanent camp. Half a year later, they continue to meet the needs of the refugee population, offering psychosocial support, delivering household supplies, and helping separated family members contact their loved ones.
CROATIA: Between September 16-25, 55,000 refugees entered Croatia. Many travel without their belongings, in need of shelter, food and water. At border crossings, railway stations and temporary admission centers, 450 Red Cross volunteers are supporting vulnerable people on the move. Red Cross volunteers have been working 24 hours a day, providing food, water, psychosocial support as well as family tracing services.
