A powerful 7.3 earthquake shook Nepal less than a month after a previous earthquake resulted in thousands of lives lost and significant damage in the country. There are reports of new damage resulting from this earthquake.
Canadian Red Cross teams currently working in Nepal to provide
medical care and aid are all safe after this latest earthquake. One of our aid workers, James Shaw, who was in the remote community of Dhunche with the Red Cross field hospital, captured a dramatic rockslide on video. James Shaw is a technician from Waterloo, Ontario who is in Nepal on a month-long mission.

Red Cross aid workers continue to assist people affected by the earthquakes in Nepal. Our field hospital in Dhunche and basic healthcare unit located in Khukondole are operational and continue to treat patients.
Canadians are encouraged to donate to the
Nepal Region Earthquake Fund.
