What better way to celebrate World First Aid Day than with some fun tracks with a first aid twist? We've come up with our top 10 songs inspired by first aid. From rock to hip hop, artists have been singing about a surprising number of first aid scenarios, from bleeding to broken bones.

1. Seizures by Faker
Protect the person from injury and check out this short video from our first aid app for more on how to deal with seizures.



2. Broken Bones by Love Inc.
In first aid training, you learn how to immobilize limbs and use slings to assist the injured person until they can get medical care.

3. Breathe by Anna Nalick
If a person is unconscious and not breathing, it's time to start CPR. Remember, 30 compressions and 2 breaths.

4. Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees
Follow the beat of this famous disco track to help you stay focused on CPR by pushing hard and fast on the person's chest.



5. Fire Burning by Sean Kingston
In this track, the lyrics go “Somebody call 9-1-1” which is great advice if the condition requires emergency attention.

6. Smooth Criminal by Michael Jackson
There's quite a backstory to this famous song with the lyrics “Annie, are you ok? Are you ok, Annie?” We previously blogged about “Annie” and the connection to first aid training.

7. Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons
Trained first aiders know to apply pressure to a bleeding wound. If someone's bleeding profusely, it's definitely time to call 9-1-1.

8. Poison by Bel Biv Devoe
You can prevent accidental poisonings by keeping medications and hazardous substances out of reach for children.

9. Songs by the Strokes
Symptoms of a stroke can include numbness or weakness on one side, slurred speech. Time is of the essence, so call 9-1-1 right away.
