Things got spooky at Ontario Red Cross headquarters this Friday, October 31, when staff held a Halloween potluck, including a pumpkin carving contest with designs ranging from traditional jack-o-lanterns to a portrait of Red Cross founder, Henri Dunant.
Over the course of the week, each department was given a pumpkin to carve and the final products were put on display for judging while witches, zombies and an assortment of ghouls and goblins gathered ‘round to take part in the mayhem and cast their votes.
There was no shortage of creativity, as designs ranged from beautifully carved traditional jack-o-lanterns to a portrait of Red Cross founder Henri Dunant.
As you may have guessed, a portrait of the founder of the Red Cross, Henri Dunant, took the cake - or, in this case, the first place prize of a pumpkin pie.
