This week, the Canadian Red Cross and the ICRC are hosting a workshop bringing together experts to identify recommendations to ensure the safety of health facilities in times of conflict. As such, we’ll be posting a blog post every day this week to help raise awareness about the need for healthcare workers to be protected in emergencies.

The discussion concluded workshops held this week on the important yet often overlooked issue of delivering health care in times of conflict. The panelists discussed how organizations such as the Red Cross or MSF respond to this 'unacceptable reality' of violence and threats to health care, how it impacts and limits access to health care for the wounded, and possible solutions through dialogue.
