Update: Red Cross ice storm response by the numbers

As power is slowly restored in areas affected by the extreme weather in the GTA, York Region, Durham Region, Halton Region and Wellington Region, the Canadian Red Cross continues to support those who were affected. 
 
The Red Cross response by the numbers:
18,000: meals provided at shelters
4,166: hours of service in Toronto, Halton, Durham, and York regions by Red Cross disaster responders
3,194: people registered at City of Toronto shelters
2,000: hygiene kits distributed to those affected by the storm
1,000: cots and blankets delivered by the Canadian Red Cross to shelters
334: highly trained disaster response volunteers deployed to help provide relief
200: the number of people who spent the night at some shelters in the first few days of the emergency
11: Red Cross volunteer shelter managers from Western Canada and Quebec who were deployed to assist

Warming centres will remain open in affected neighbourhoods based on need with the Red Cross continuing to provide staff, coordinate meals, and ensure everyone without hydro has a safe and warm place to stay.
